Touching People

1.I think this project is actually pretty neat. It takes people out of their comfort zones.

2. What would you do if someone approached you with a camera and asked you to participate in a photo shoot and then asked you to touch a stranger? I'd find the nearest person and pose with them in a weird way.

3. An unusual photo shoot that i think would be fun to do would be getting two people that dont know eachother having them switch clothes and then doing a weird pose.

4.I think the photos were really good. The photographer didnt really show too many different rules.

Agree or Disagree with Judges.

1. Describe one photo that you agree with the judges on. Explain why you and the judges do or do not like it.
I agree that they need to put more pictures then the ones that they have already and have every body to know
2. Describe one photo that you do NOT agree with the judges on. Explain why you think the judges are wrong.
I do not agree with the judges in reference to the picture of the luge. It was more dynamic than they portrayed it to be, and was aesthetically pleasing.

Chosing the Winner.

They looked at all the picture that the portfolio had to see if they all tied together. They looked at how well they people took the shots and how they they shot it. Also if the portfolio as a whole was interesting.

Winning Video

What did the judges note as strengths as they were critiquing it?
They like the way some of his shots were taken. Also the creativity he had. His color and composition in the first pictures were really good to.

What do you see as strengths? Do you see any weaknesses?
I think the main strength he had was the creativity he had while taking the pictures. Some weaknesses he had were on maybe one or two pictures the photo could have been taken differently.

Sport Actions

Name: Alyssa Schukar
General Focus: people (stories, emotions)
3 problems: One distance on pictures, not feeling any emotions, no strong single pictures, not happy photos mainly sad.
2 things the judges like- The guy sweeping with a shovel and the girl that fell on the track in front of the hurdle.
I thought her portfolio was pretty boring and didn't really have a lot of interesting pictures.

Japanese Earthquake

This photo is remarkable because it shows what true power the earthquake released in it's time the giant cargo boxes just look like a bunch of Lego's sitting in a bucket all mingled together. There really aren't and particular rules that this photographer used besides the fact that he changed his view point in order to allow the viewer to get a real picture of what really happened.
This photo fills me with shock. Its one thing to hear about all the damage that happend but its another thing to see it. The photographer used leading lines in this photo.

This photo is more detaled with the damage that is there after the earthquake. The photographer also used leading lines with the poles and the road.

This photo makes me realize that no matter how heavy something we make is, or how well we make it, it's nothing that nature can't undo. the photographer used patterns and repetition in this photo.

News Paper

Front Pages of The World

My favorite front page is The Chongqing Times from Chongqing China. Its my favorite because its a little different from our newspapers in America and because i cant understand it.
My favorite headline is The New York Post because it instantly tells you what your going to read about and its all in your face.
It looks like 3 or 4 stories, its in Chinese so i cant understand it.
The thing they all have in common is the headlines all are in bold text.
The different kinds of font that they use and how the stories are organized.
