New Briefs

Who: A senior, Travis Logan
What: won a DECA competition
When: Two weeks ago
Where: Union college
Why: To qualify for nationals In Florida
How: By getting first at state.



Summary lead Version 1:
Many people have competed in the visual merchandising at district DECA, but only Travis Logan won.

Summary lead Version 2:
Senior, Travis Logan competed to be first at a DECA competition.

Summary lead Version 3:
A win at the National DECA competition sends the Senior, Travis Logan To compete at state.

 STORY:
 A win at the National DECA competition sends the senior, Travis Logan, to compete at state. He says "My goal is taking first at state so I qualify for nations in Florida." He will make his way to state in April. There he hopes that he makes it to nationals.

All his hard work and dedication put him past state and into nationals. Although he didn't get first place in nationals he made second. He then said "Im fine with being second, i'm just happy i made it to nationals." He prays that next year he only gets the same chance.



Who: Girls in grade 10-12
What: Color Guard tryouts
When: to be held Tuesday, May 25, to Thursday, May 27
Where: on school campus at west side of parking lot.
Why: Skills needed: dance, coordination, rhythm, flag-twirling ability.
How: compete for 16 positions.

68 girls participated in color guard tryouts in order to join the marching band.


Summary lead Version 2:
Color guard tryouts  for girls in grades 10-12 are being held at the west side of the parking lot from Tuesday May 25 to Thursday May 27

10-12 Graders who want to try out for color guard; Try outs will be held on Tuesday, May 25 , to Thursday, May 27 on the school campus at the west side of the parking lot. 

 STORY:

68 girls participated in color guard tryouts in order to join the marching band last season. 10-12 graders who want to be apart of becoming apart of color guard need to show up on Tuesday, May 25 and try out. Skills that are needed for anyone trying out would be dance, coordination, rhythm, flag-twirling ability. They will preform at football games during the halftime shows, basketball games, and even parades.

Anyone chosen will be apart of the fall marching band. Last season around 68 girls tried out and hopefully this year there will be an even better turn out. Anyone who may interested needs to see Ms Cindy Barker in room 103 for more information.

Architect Shoot

DETAILS
I think it matches the type because it closely shows the way the building is. It shows the way the building was created and what the outside looks like.





LIGHT
Its the type because it creates this depth in the picture of darkness. the light makes the picture interesting to look at and lets the mind wonder.





PATTERNS
Its the type pattern because it shows repetition on the design on the columns. Even the columns look exactly alike and show repetition. 





ANGLES AND SHAPES
This architecture has different kinds of shapes and angles in the building. It actually makes the building cool to look at.





SURROUNDINGS
I think its a surrounding type of picture because the building "sticks out like a sore thumb". Its not typical for a building to just sit in the middle of the forrest.
