Architect Shoot

DETAILS
I think it matches the type because it closely shows the way the building is. It shows the way the building was created and what the outside looks like.

LIGHT
Its the type because it creates this depth in the picture of darkness. the light makes the picture interesting to look at and lets the mind wonder.

PATTERNS
Its the type pattern because it shows repetition on the design on the columns. Even the columns look exactly alike and show repetition.

ANGLES AND SHAPES
This architecture has different kinds of shapes and angles in the building. It actually makes the building cool to look at.

SURROUNDINGS
I think its a surrounding type of picture because the building "sticks out like a sore thumb". Its not typical for a building to just sit in the middle of the forrest.

Touching People

1.I think this project is actually pretty neat. It takes people out of their comfort zones.

2. What would you do if someone approached you with a camera and asked you to participate in a photo shoot and then asked you to touch a stranger? I'd find the nearest person and pose with them in a weird way.

3. An unusual photo shoot that i think would be fun to do would be getting two people that dont know eachother having them switch clothes and then doing a weird pose.

4.I think the photos were really good. The photographer didnt really show too many different rules.

Agree or Disagree with Judges.

1. Describe one photo that you agree with the judges on. Explain why you and the judges do or do not like it.
I agree that they need to put more pictures then the ones that they have already and have every body to know
2. Describe one photo that you do NOT agree with the judges on. Explain why you think the judges are wrong.
I do not agree with the judges in reference to the picture of the luge. It was more dynamic than they portrayed it to be, and was aesthetically pleasing.

Chosing the Winner.

They looked at all the picture that the portfolio had to see if they all tied together. They looked at how well they people took the shots and how they they shot it. Also if the portfolio as a whole was interesting.

Winning Video

What did the judges note as strengths as they were critiquing it?
They like the way some of his shots were taken. Also the creativity he had. His color and composition in the first pictures were really good to.

What do you see as strengths? Do you see any weaknesses?
I think the main strength he had was the creativity he had while taking the pictures. Some weaknesses he had were on maybe one or two pictures the photo could have been taken differently.

Sport Actions

Name: Alyssa Schukar
General Focus: people (stories, emotions)
3 problems: One distance on pictures, not feeling any emotions, no strong single pictures, not happy photos mainly sad.
2 things the judges like- The guy sweeping with a shovel and the girl that fell on the track in front of the hurdle.
I thought her portfolio was pretty boring and didn't really have a lot of interesting pictures.

Japanese Earthquake

This photo is remarkable because it shows what true power the earthquake released in it's time the giant cargo boxes just look like a bunch of Lego's sitting in a bucket all mingled together. There really aren't and particular rules that this photographer used besides the fact that he changed his view point in order to allow the viewer to get a real picture of what really happened.
This photo fills me with shock. Its one thing to hear about all the damage that happend but its another thing to see it. The photographer used leading lines in this photo.

This photo is more detaled with the damage that is there after the earthquake. The photographer also used leading lines with the poles and the road.

This photo makes me realize that no matter how heavy something we make is, or how well we make it, it's nothing that nature can't undo. the photographer used patterns and repetition in this photo.

MY COVER

Monday, January 23, 2012

Summary

I. Early Magazine Covers started off as the table of contents, and then evolved into basicly a book cover presenting a title and publication data. After the book cover style appeared this one used a generic illustration in a symbolic manner to evoke the spirit of the publication, without revealing any of this issue's specific contents.

II. The Poster Cover was the dominator in the magizine field at the time, it is said to have be darived from the artistic posters of the Art Norveau movement. The covers of many of these oversized magazines looked as if they were printed to be framed and hung on the wall.

III. (Pictures Married to Type) While many magazines boasted artful poster covers, others relied heavily on cover lines to draw readers inside in a more definite way than the cover art could accomplish. It is not clear when cover lines first appeared, but it was early in the history of the magazine cover. Most cover lines identifed the names of the contributors, not the topics of their articles.

IV. (In the Forest of Words) Its very artistic and has a large number of cover lines. Very attractive and eye catching. More coverlines that expose the picture more and more. Good photography and big texts or words to make it easy to read and look at and the words cover the people or things.

Akins, Happy, Building

I used this picture the Akins' theme because its our main entrance. Its the front of our school and people would most likely recognize it if they saw it. Its not my best work because i wish i would've made it not tilt so much but i like it. i also wish i would've been more creative with the theme.

I used this picture because of the guys shirt. Our theme was happy and the koo-laid man always has a smile on. The boy is also smiling so its just a happy picture all together! I probably could've done something better but had little time.

I chose this picture because it was the easiest way to describe building. I wanted to be creative with my work but i didnt have much time like i said before. But i do like the picture i wish the length we had would've been bigger so i could've shown the whole picture but oh well.
